MTRAC Product Recommendations

Guidance issued by MTRAC reflects the appropriateness of prescribing these products in the primary care setting, based on the best evidence available. In these considerations patient safety is of paramount importance. MTRAC recommendations are offered as well informed guidance. They do not in any way impinge on the individual doctor's right to prescribe according to the individual circumstances of the consultation.

MTRAC guidance is issued as verdict sheets which provide limited product information, but give an overview of the published clinical evidence to support use, evidence of safety and the committees verdict regarding use in primary care. More detailed information is contained in summary sheets.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

MTRAC guidance is written for GPs in the West Midlands region. The recommendations produced may incorporate local prescribing issues and may not be suitable for use outside the region. Neither MTRAC nor Keele University accepts any liability for any use made of the guidance. The information sheets cannot be used for commercial purposes.
